In the area of industrial machinery/ship pump valves
3D print advantage
There are a large number of large, complex and non-standard parts in the field of industrial machinery. Traditional casting, in the face of single test, small batches of many varieties and complex internal structures, usually requires the development of moulds, core boxes and assembly, with longer production lead times.
3D printing and digitized casting techniques can directly build sand-type, sand-core or casting models based on three-dimensional data to reduce the opening links and to respond more flexibly to product design changes and customized production needs.
It’s made fast.
Direct use of digital model-driven sand, sand core manufacturing to reduce traditional wood models, core boxes and complex assembly inputs, especially for new product development, single test and small bulk production.
Complex structural manufacturing capacity
♪ Breaking the traditional model ♪Complex internal cavity, alien fluids, integrated structures and large sand coresSome of these limitations include the expansion of industrial components design and manufacturing space.
Shorter cycles and lower costs
Design modifications can respond quickly through digital models to reduce the time and cost of repeated modelling and are better suited to the needs of industrial machinery for multiple varieties, small batches and customized manufacturing.
Cylinder ( cast iron)
Harder.
Large, complex inner cavity products are integrated and delivered quickly;
Traditional foundry processes have low success rates, high costs and long cycles.
Solutions
The 3DP sand casting process streamlines the sand core assembly process by optimizing sand-shaped structures (7 sand cores, 3 sands), increasing positioning accuracy, reducing sand weight, saving labour and reducing costs. Complex structure sand cores were integrated and the internal cavity of the product was well aligned, with high size precision and a better surface quality than the traditional casting process.
Pumps (carbon steel)
Harder.
One out of five products is required for research and development testing, and rapid validation of product structure and performance is required to save modelling costs and cycles;

3D printing applications in industrial machinery
From the development of new products, engineering certification to the manufacture of complex castings, 3D printing is providing more flexible digital production methods for industrial machinery and the ship pump valve industry.
LAYWON according to partsSize, structure, materials, quantity and end-use requirements, matching the 3DP sand cast and SLS casting manufacturing processes to provide manufacturing solutions for complex industrial components from digital models to final castings.
Complex inner cavity. Rapid manufacture of large casting
Large cast iron cylinders have large sizes and complex internal structures, and traditional manufacturing methods require the use of multiple sand cores to complete internal structure formation, with high requirements for moulds, core boxes and sand core combinations.
Available for large complex tank manufacturing needs3DP sand printing process, directly print complex sand cores and sand formations through the optimization of digitized splits and sand structures.
This approach reduces the traditional modelling links, increases the flexibility of complex internal cavity manufacturing and provides more efficient production pathways for large cylinders and similar complex mechanical castings.
Small batch development test There's no need for a traditional batch model.
The development of new industrial pump products is frequentMultiple models, low single demand, tight R & D cycleAnd so on. When small samples are manufactured using traditional models, the costs and development cycles of the models tend to be higher.
Development of pilot systems for small batch carbon steel pumps, availableSLS wax model + precision castingThe manufacturing path, which directly produces the model required for casting through 3D printing, reduces the input of traditional moulds.
In particular, it applies to the manufacture of complex pumps at multiple models, small batches and new product validation stages.
Focus on innovation Driven by industrial progress
LAYWON combines industry 3D printing technology with casting depth to provide more flexible spare parts manufacturing programmes for industrial machinery, ships, pump valves and heavy equipment enterprises.
Depending on the needs of the project, it can result in:
